SMT Golf Sweeps South African Long Drive Championships
South Africa - The season ending Long Drive Championship, with an estimated
total field usage of upwards of 70%, SMT Golf's award winning clubheads once
again get a chance to show the world what they are made to do… hit the ball a
long way.
Senior Champion Mark Springer made his way through the qualifying rounds with
his SMT 455 Deep Bore driver, and decided at the last minute to use his Son's
SMT Encore driver for the final round which proved to be a wise move indeed.
Mark captured the title of South African Long Drive Champion over two other
competitors, also both using SMT's 455 Deep Bore clubhead.
Company owner and clubhead designer Mike Tait had this to say about the
dominance of the SMT brand. "In a business where hype and marketing completely
dominate the landscape, where big name OEM's are spending millions and millions
of dollars to shake a credit card out of the back pocket and purses of consumers
with short lived gimmicks, shapes and catchphrases, SMT Golf is doing what we
know to be the right thing, doing it simply, and standing behind our products
and our brand like no other, and when I see 75% of the field of Professionals
using the SMT name in a competition as important as this one is, and not a
single one of them being paid to do so, it really tells me that I must have done
something right". Tait goes on to say, "You have to understand, the competitors
in these events have their choice of well over 2500 different brands and styles
and lofts, including the entire product line of the largest OEM names in the
business, and yet SMT is still the club that keeps winning, and winning in a big
way". "Drivers are made to go far, and we have been producing the longest
hitting clubheads for every golfer on the planet for almost six years now, and
continue to prove it to the world".
As if sweeping 1st, 2nd and 3rd place wasn't enough, SMT's 455 Deep Bore
clubhead captured 2nd , 4th and 5th place in the Men's Open Division as well. "I
am really very lucky to have Morne Zurnamer as my South African SMT Master
Distributor. A strong long drive competitor himself, Morne has been spreading
the word on SMT and taking care of business for quite a while now. He is an
invaluable asset and I am lucky to have him on my side".
SMT Golf, The Winningest Component Company In The History Of Golf, and the first
and only company to win each division of the RE/Max World Long Drive
Championship, and the "Longest driver on any PGA Tour", built its reputation on
the highest quality products with unsurpassed performance and durability. SMT
drivers, hybrids, irons, and wedges are designed for golfers of all skill levels
who expect the most out of their golf clubs.
SMT Golf Makes It Four In A Row "Down Under"
Sydney Australia - The season ending Australian Long Drive Championships.
Coming off an amazing sweep of South Africa, Australia's results were even
more impressive. To say nothing of the fact that SMT has won the Australian
Championship for the past four years in a row.
2006 Pacific Islands Champion Brent Kearney, continued on his winning ways by
backing up his 2006 championship performance, with SMT Encore club in hand, by
dominating the field in this years Australian Long Drive Championship, in
Sydney with the same SMT Encore driver! As if that was not enough, Brent
immediately followed up this back to back feat by winning the Australasian
Tour Championship a few moments later, and taking home that cash prize as
well, edging out fellow Aussie Craig Grigson and his SMT Encore driver.
On the Senior side of the Championship, SMT Golf, yet again rose to the
occasion with a 1-2-3 finish, lapping the entire field for yet another season.
Gary Tozer leading the way, as he has all year, with is SMT Spectrum clubhead
in an impressive show of power to capture the Long Drive Champion Title in the
Senior Division over the 2005 Senior Champion Gary Lindner and his SMT
Spectrum clubhead. Third place in the senior division went to Dallas Brooks
and his SMT 455 Deep Bore
SMT At it again Down Under!
Australia - Noosa Long Drive Championship. SMT Golf, 6 time RE/MAX World Long
Drive Champions, once again dominates the field with another powerful
performance and Championship title to go with its 2nd and 3rd place finishes in
the Men's Open Division.
Champion Luke Bagulley and his SMT Spectrum driver blew the field away with an
awesome display of power and accuracy, while Brendan Moylan grabbed second place
with his SMT Encore driver, wrapping up a fantastic season. The 2006 Australian
Long Drive Champion John Noble wrapped up the SMT "hat trick" by taking third
place with his brightly colored SMT Spectrum clubheads and trousers.
An SMT clubhead also once again grabbed the Senior Champion Title with Gary
Tozer's remarkable efforts. Gary, continuing on his winning ways using his SMT
Encore, cruised to his Championship title at Noosa.
"This has really been a magnificent season in Australia, we have taken 5 of the
6 sanctioned long drive events, and are once again poised for winning the
upcoming Australian Long Drive Championship season finale event in August" said
Mike Tait, President and club designer of SMT Golf Inc. Tait went on to say,
"The competition in Australia and New Zealand has been fantastic and I am proud
to know most of these guys from my visits to their beautiful country, and I am
proud of their accomplishments and the fact that they clearly trust the SMT
brand above the hundreds of others available to them, really says something to
me about the power of SMT".
