started as a shaft company. I was fascinated by the technology in a golf
shaft. At the time there were not a lot of people that truly understood
the shaft, and took for granted that the shaft companies did.
In the early years, I purchased many shafts through
liquidation. I quickly found that there were no standards with golf shafts
and there did not seem to be much consistency either. You could easily get
3 different flexes out of one box of "Regular Flex" If you understand that
flex is measured by a frequency machine that means that shafts were as
much as 30 cpm different.
If you were to buy say 8 shafts from your local
distributor to build a set of clubs, you could have a set that could have
one iron at your desired flex, the next at one flex higher, and another
one set lower. How can you possible have a consistent game if your clubs
are inconsistent.
KGS set out to fix this problem. We but 1000's of
shafts, sort, frequency matched and sorted into sets. This was the
beginning of Kona Golf Sales.
We eventually found reliable suppliers, with reliable
products. We still spot check for quality and we still offer cpm matched
Iron Shafts under the KGS label.

Optimal trajectory filament wound and low torque will appeal to the vast
majority of players. Very classy pewter color will be the perfect match to any
color head that you would use.
This is not the shaft to use if you are looking for a playing length over 46".
The Competition shaft will hit the ball slightly higher than the Inception
shaft, and will feel slightly softer.
