Custom Built 1 Length Golf Clubs

If you have been considering Single Length Irons, you have probably noticed hat there are several offerings available today. Some of  the offerings are from companies such as Pinhawk Golf , or Wishon Golf . These two companies have been in the forefront in development of the modern day, one length golf clubs. Many others have jumped on the wagon as well, which can make it confusing to you.

What should you look for in deciding on 1 length irons?

Over the past several years, actually since 2016, Kona Golf Sales has been specializing in Single Length Irons.  As the Club builder, I can build any clubs I want for myself, but only play single length and will never go back to variable length irons, hybrids or fairway woods.

As with most popular products available online today, many decisions are based solely on price. Buyer beware.

Cost is always important in any decision, but there are a few things that you should consider if you want success with you new set.

Next to quality components, the build is most important for success.

To get the most consistency and feel from the finished set, the design specs must exact. This is key to a proper build. Acceptable factory tolerance for most companies is plus or minus 2 degrees / grams for loft, lie and weight. This is not acceptable in a custom build, especially for a one length set.

Let me explain!

The loft is the key factor to control the distance the ball travels for a single length iron. When developed, the lofts are set to give equal distance gapping between each club. For example, a 7 iron may have a loft of 35 degrees followed by a 8 iron at 39 degrees.  That means, if the tolerances were at the extreme, you could have that 7 iron at 37 degrees and the 8 iron also at 37 degrees.

In this case, both clubs would travel the same distance. Plus, the distance gapping between the 6, 7, 8 and 9 iron would be off spec leading to inconsistency.

It is very important that your builder checks and adjusts all specs as necessary. This involves expensive specialized equipment to set the loft and lies. Many builders do not have the equipment required to check and bend iron heads to spec.  For more information on Single length Irons Visit here, or If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us!
